Stacking the Shelves is another weekly meme hosted by Tynga at Tynga’s Reviews. They’re both awesome memes and I love meeting all of you through them!

LOTS of super fun books this week, friends! Alas, I have fallen off the NetGalley wagon. Kind of hard. Hopefully this will be the last big batch for a while. Don’t laugh at me! I just can’t help it sometimes! I get so excited about ALL THE BOOKS!!

NETGALLEY

Book cover for Nantucket Blue by Leila HowlandAmazon | Goodreads

Nantucket Blue by Leila Howland (May 7, 2013 from Disney Hyperion). Will you just look at this beachy, swoony cover? I mean, if that isn’t enough to make you want to read this book, then the synopsis DEFINITELY will: It’s about a young girl with some real friend issues who has to spend her summer working instead of chilling with her BFF. It sounds kind of intense and meaty but still light and beachy. Obviously, there’s a boy too.

Book cover for Rules by Stacey KadeAmazon | Goodreads

Rules: Project Paper Doll # 1 by Stacey Kade (April 23, 2013 from Disney Hyperion). A dystopian about a young girl who is half human, half ALIEN who was created in a genetics lab and escapes. The rules in the title are basically her rules for survival, and they include not falling in love, so you know that’s going to happen. Plus the people who created her are chasing after her to bring her back. DRAMZ!

Book cover for Quintana of Charyn by Melina MarchettaAmazon | Goodreads

Quintana of Charyn: The Lumatere Chronicles #3 by Melina Marchetta (April 23, 2013 from Candlewick Press). I’m getting all geared up to start the Lumatere Chronicles Readalong, hosted by Hannah from So Obsessed With, so I was MUCHO excited to see this on Netgalley. I just know that I’m not going to be able to wait!

Book Cover for Notes From Ghost Town by Kate EllisonAmazon | Goodreads

Notes From Ghost Town by Kate Ellison (February 12, 2013 from EgmontUSA). I read and enjoyed–although didn’t LOVE–Kate Ellison’s debut, THE BUTTERFLY CLUES, last year. It was a really thought-provoking, dark story about grief, murder, and mental illness. This one sounds like more of the same, but with a ghosty presence of first love to boot. I’m really intrigued by it.

Book cover for The Symptoms of My Insanity by Mindy RafAmazon | Goodreads

The Symptoms of My Insanity by Mindy Raf (April 18, 2013 from Dial BFYR). DEBUT ALERT! YAY! Keeping with the mental illness theme from above, but taking a totally different spin, this one brings the funnies. Izzy is a hard-core hypochondriac, but she’s also got lots of personal things going on: her friend is acting weird and so is her crush, and her mom is getting sick. The synopsis calls this one “bittersweet,” which is kind of one of my favorite things. I KNOW, I’m weird. But excited to read this one!

It’s been a few weeks, no? Yes? I’ve got some goodies in any case!

NETGALLEY/EDELWEISS

Book cover for Through the Skylight by Ian BaucomAmazon | Goodreads

Through the Skylight by Ian Baucom (March 19, 2013 from Atheneum BFYR).  OMG friends, THIS BOOK. First of all, MG. Second of all, TIME-TRAVEL. Third of all, MIDDLE AGES. Guys! This book is about three kids in modern…well, I’m not sure where. London, maybe? But they get caught up in the lives of three kids living in the middle ages who need to be rescued from child slavers! AHHH!! PS. There’s pictures. Thank you, Atheneum and Edelweiss for this super gem!

Book cover for On Little Wings by Regina Sirois

Amazon | Goodreads

On Little Wings by Reginia Sirois (August 15, 2013 from Viking Juvenile).  This one was self-pubbed, I believe, in 2011, but it’s being released by Viking this summer. It sounds quiet and intense: it’s about a young girl who’s trying to figure out the truth about her mother. Always a meaty topic. Plus, it takes place in Maine, one of my must-read book settings. Don’t as me why because I don’t know. But anyway, sounds good!

Book cover for The Reece Malcolm List by Amy Spalding

Amazon | Goodreads

The Reece Malcolm List by Amy Spalding (February 5, 2013 from Entangled Teen). I don’t know if you guys can see, but this book was blurbed by Sara Zarr. That in itself is something that catches my eye. But really, I would have wanted to read this book regardless: It’s about a young girl whose mother is a famous author whom she hardly knows or sees. When her dad dies, she gets shipped off to live with her stranger author mom, and things get family-emotional from there. Thank you, Entangled Teen!

Book cover for The Rules for Disappearing by Ashley Elston

Amazon | Goodreads

The Rules for Disappearing by Ashley Elston (May 14, 2013 from Disney-Hyperion). Debut alert! This one sounds all kinds of awesome. A girl and her family are being shuttled around in the Witness Protection program because of something shady that Meg’s–that’s the girl’s name–dad saw or did. She’s basically fed up with the pretending. They’re in Louisiana now, and she’s determined to try and figure out what her family has been running from. PLUS, there’s a southern farm boy named Ethan Landry (Landry! FNL forever!) complicating matters. Thanks Disney!

BOUGHT

Book cover for The Archived by Victoria Schwab

Amazon | Goodreads

The Archived: The Archived #1 by Victoria Schwab.  DUH. A book about paranormal librarians who guard the dead, who exist as books. Stop it. Also, it’s supposed to be AMAZINGLY clever, and just amazing in general.

NETGALLEY

The Moon and More

Amazon | Goodreads

The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen (June 4, 2013 from Viking Juvenile).  I haven’t read ALL of Sarah Dessen’s books, but I’ve read a few, and I’ve enjoyed them. This one sounds typically emotional: it’s about a girl who is going off to college and is spending her last summer at home, where she has to figure out lots of stuff, including a BOY.

Book cover for Senshi by Cole Gibsen

Amazon | Goodreads

Senshi: Katana #2 by Cole Gibsen (March 8, 2013 from Flux).  I read and enjoyed the first book in this series, KATANA, about a girl who finds out that she is the reincarnation of a samurai warrior. It was pretty good, guys, and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens to Raleigh/Senshi next when things kind of go south.

BOUGHT

Book cover for The Cadet of Tildor by Alex Lidell

Amazon | Goodreads

The Cadet of Tildor by Alex Lidell.  I already read this one, friends (review coming soon), and honestly, it was REALLY good. A very well-paced fantasy with good world-building and a pretty slow-burning (and I do mean slow) relationship. Good stuff.

Book cover for Just One Day by Gayle Forman

Amazon | Goodreads

Just One Day: Just One Day/Just One Year #1 by Gayle Forman. I just finished this book this morning and it is still basically all I can think about. It was basically perfect, if you like to read about imperfect people and things. Which I do. Because that’s real life, y’all. This books was outstanding.

Whew! It’s been almost three weeks since I did one of these posts, guys! The holidays were the perfect time for me to take a mini-break, though. Lots of things to do! Also, lots of great books to tell you about (although I didn’t get any for Christmas *sad face*)! My NetGalley resolution is already being tested. Or broken, depending on how you look at these kinds of things. Either way, NetGalley was good to me this holiday, friends.

NETGALLEY

the loop

Amazon | Goodreads

The Loop by Shandy Lawson (April 30, 2013 from Hyperion).  This book sounds pretty trippy and intense and awesome. It kind of reminds me a lot of Lauren Oliver’s BEFORE I FALL: these two kids relive the same two days over and over again, where they fall in love and are murdered at the end of a road trip. They spend this book trying to figure out a way to break the cycle and LIVE!

The Runaway king

Amazon | Goodreads

The Runaway King: The Ascendence Trilogy #2 by Jennifer A. Nielsen (March 1, 2013 from Scholastic).  Ok. So I haven’t actually read the first book in this series yet, but it’s on my docket before the end of this month. I can’t resist the pull of solid-sounding MG/YA fantasy, friends. I can’t.

Revenge of the Girl with the Great Personality

Amazon | Goodreads

Revenge of the Girl With the Great Personality by Elizabeth Eulberg (March 1, 2013 from Point).  This book sounds all kinds of awesome. First, I love that it’s about a girl who is popular, but not a bitch. She’s likeable and friendly and normal-sounding. OF COURSE, none of the boys notice her, though, so she’s always on the outside looking in with that biz. Lexi apparently sets about to change all of this by getting involved in one of her younger sister’s beauty pageants. (Lexi’s got some family issues, too, involving these pageants and her mother.) Looking forward to reading this one.

Also Known As

Amazon | Goodreads

Also Known As by Robin Benway (February 26, 2013 from Bloomsbury). Don’t tease me with spies, y’all. DON’T EVEN. This one, about a young girl in a family of spies who needs to go on a solo mission in a private school, sounds great. DEEP COVER, friends. There’s nothing like it.

Dance of Shadows

Amazon | Goodreads

Dance of Shadows: Dance of Shadows #1 by Yelena Black (February 12, 2013 from Bloomsbury). A 2013 debut, HOLLA! But seriously, I am totally intrigued by this ballet-mystery-paranormal. The main character goes to a ballet academy, this site of her sister’s disappearance some time before, and there’s all kinds of mysterious hints to “fire” and “burning” and “power” in the Goodreads synopsis. My interest is totally piqued.

School Spirits

Amazon | Goodreads

School Spirits: School Spirits #1 by Rachel Hawkins (May 14, 2013 from Disney-Hyperion). You KNOW I’m not going to skip this second Hex Hall series from Rachel Hawkins, yo. This one is about Izzy Brannick, one of the secondary characters in the later Hex Hall books.

BOUGHT & GIFTED

Holiday books!

Amazon | Goodreads

Prophecy: The Dragon King Chronicles #1 by Ellen Oh. Dragons and Asian-based fantasy? CHECK. YES PLEASE. Also, a 2013 debut.

Amazon | Goodreads

Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler. I know, I know. Way behind the times with Sarah Ockler. But thanks to my Broke and Bookish Secret Santa, Christina from Book Tasty (YAY THANK YOU!!), I’ve got a copy to read now!

Amazon | Goodreads

Kat, Incorrigible: The Unladylike Adventures of Kat Stephenson #1 by Stephanie Burgis. Guys, I have been wanting to read this awesome-sounding MG magic historical fiction for AGES. That awesome secret santa I mentioned just before HOOKED ME UP, and I can’t wait to read this one.

EDELWEISS & NETGALLEY

Book cover for The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay

Amazon | Goodreads

The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay (March 26, 2013 from Bloomsbury).

I can’t think of  a book that’s been getting more buzz on the tweets and the posts and EVERYWHERE lately. It sounds really angsty and emotional and heavy, and I’m in the mood for those kind of contemps around now. I was so excited to get this one–thanks Atria!

Book cover for Dr. Frankenstein's Daughters by Suzanne Weyn

Amazon | Goodreads

Dr. Frankenstein’s Daughters by Suzanne Weyn (January 1, 2013 from Scholastic).  I’m totally intrigued by this one, friends. It’s a historical fiction/mystery about these two secret daughters of Dr. Frankenstein who take up their father’s legacy and get caught up in this love triangle (tiny ugh…sisters competing for a guy = discomfiting, but whatever). There’s a serial killer and experiments and a really awesome-sounding gothic vibe about it.

Book cover for The Fire Horse Girl by Kay Honeyman

Amazon | Goodreads

The Fire Horse Girl by Kay Honeyman (January 1, 2013 from Scholastic). Whooo Hooo! A 2013 debut! Even cooler, this is a 2013 debut about both a culture and a time period that are lacking in YA: Asian immigrants to the US in the early 20th century. I know. Sounds a little specific. But still: This story about a Chinese girl born under a bad sign who has to deal with some tough things, not the least of which involve a boy she falls in love with. Sounds GOOD.

BOUGHT

Kissing Under the Mistletoe

Amazon | Goodreads

Kissing Under the Mistletoe: A St. Helena Vineyard Novel Series #1 by Marina Adair. I saw this cutie-pie contemporary ADULT romance all over twitter a little while ago, thanks to April and Allison. Plus, it was super cheap for my kindle and Christmasy. I’m going to read this one hopefully BEFORE the holiday because it sounds like a good, happy-making book. GOOD TIMES.

AUDIBLE

An Echo in the Bone by Diana Gabaldon

Amazon | Goodreads | Audible

An Echo in the Bone: Outlander #7 by Diana Gabaldon, narrated by Davina Porter.  Actually already listening to this one. It’s so good. Not the best Outlander book based on what I’ve listened to so far, but it’s OUTLANDER. I’m totally invested. And the narrator, Davina Porter, is AMAZING. I’m going to be listening to LOTS more of her books.

The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood

Amazon | Goodreads | Audible

The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood, narrated by Claire Danes. Sadly, I’ve never read this book, even though my mom has been pushing it on me for years. There’s too many books, guys!! So when I saw that Claire Danes read the audiobook, and that it was one of Audible’s best audiobooks of the year, I knew I had to give it a go.

NETGALLEY

Book cover for Going Vintage by Lindsey Leavitt

Amazon | Goodreads

Going Vintage by Lindsey Leavitt (March 26, 2013 from Bloomsbury). To this day, Lindsey Leavitt’s debut, SEAN GRISWOLD’S HEAD remains one of the most wonderfully surprising YA books I’ve ever read. (BOOM!) And from the looks of it, GOING VINTAGE is going to be more of the same, except this time I won’t be surprised by how awesome it surely is: it’s the story of a girl who swears off boys when her BF is caught cheating. Except not only does she swear off boys, she basically swears off 21st century gadgets and stuff, too. SOUNDS SUPER FUN.

Book cover for Me, Him, Them and It by Caela Carter

Amazon | Goodreads

Me, Him, Them and It by Caela Carter (February 5, 2013 from Bloomsbury). This one is a 2013 debut, friends, and it sounds really thought-provoking and tug-at-my-heartstrings-ish. It’s about a young girl who has a crappy life at home and so she goes around acting wild and winds up getting pregnant. Her parents suck, the baby daddy ditches her, and so she’s living with other relatives. Sounds like a good, deep story about family and love and all that gushy stuff that I ADORE.

YAforNJSo that’s all I got this week, friends. But before I close up, I wanted to give a shout out to this AWESOME auction going on right now on Ebay, YA for NJ. Maybe you’ve heard, maybe not, but I live in New Jersey. Have lived here my whole life, and so have my parents, and generations of my fam before them, too. There are parts of Jersey that were special for so many people, and important to me and my life that, up until Hurricane (excuse me, “Superstorm”) Sandy, had been the same for decades or more but are now totally gone. And even though this storm came through a month ago, there are people who are still not able to live in their own homes, and people who still don’t have heat, and power lines and trees down everywhere. It’s a big bummer, especially going into the holiday season.

This rocking auction is putting up some EXCELLENT items for bid from so many awesome YA authors, and all of the proceeds go to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. It’s a good cause, friends. Plus. Some of this swag? LEGIT. You should check it out.

FOR REVIEW

book cover for Midwinterblood by Marcus Sedgwick

Amazon | Goodreads

Midwinterblood by Marcus Sedgwick (February 5, 2013 from Roaring Brook Press). I’ve been really looking forward to reading this book from Marcus Sedgwick, despite never having read any of his work so far. Because this one sounds so freaking intriguing: it’s basically the story of these two souls, I guess, who keep finding eachother in different bodies/incarnations throughout time. There’s paranormal biz, romance, family issues and pretty much who knows what else. At least I think MIDWINTERBLOOD is about these things. I don’t know if I could describe it any differently. Thanks, Roaring Brook for the ARC!!!

BOUGHT

Book cover for So Close To you by Rachel Carter

So Close To You: So Close To You #1 by Rachel Carter. (Amazon | Goodreads)

Guys, Harper has some pretty awesome e-books on sale over Amazon way right now, and this one is just an example (more to follow, though). For $2.99, I snagged this book about some science experiment gone haywire, disappearing people, time travel, etc. It sounds pretty great, and at that cheapo price? I’ll definitely give it a whirl.

book cover for Smart Girls Get What They Want by Sarah Strohmeyer

Smart Girls Get What They Want by Sarah Strohmeyer. (Amazon | Goodreads)

I love stories like this one, friends, about girls (or anyone, for that matter) coming out of their shells. It always leads to several things: One, some heartwarming moments; two, AWKWARDNESS; three, great new experiences and realizations that there are benefits to putting yourself out there. This one sounds cute and fun.

Book cover for Mariana by Susanna Kearsley

Mariana by Susanna Kearsley. (Amazon | Goodreads)

Friends, Susanna Kearsley is one of those authors whom I’ve read only once, but I really enjoyed (THE WINTER SEA) and have always wanted to read more. As a fan of the Outlander books, I’m not surprised that I’m drawn to these books that combine time travel and historical fiction. MARIANA was the kindle daily deal yesterday, so I snapped it up.

Book cover for Sanctum by Sarah Fine

Sanctum: Guards of the Shadowlands #1 by Sarah Fine. (Amazon | Goodreads)

Ok. Another book that I’m taking a flyer on because, one, it was cheap for my kindle ($3.99), and two, because it sounds INSANELY AWESOME. It’s basically about a girl whose bestie kills herself, and so said girl–Lela–decides that she’s going to go to the gates of hell to save her friend’s soul and encounters some nasty creatures who sound like Hell cops. Friends. This book takes place in Hell. PSH. I’m in.

Book cover for Pantomime by Laura Lam

Amazon | Goodreads

Pantomime by Laura Lam (February 5, 2013 from Strange Chemistry). Guys, this book sounds like a story about a freaky fantasy circus. *record scratch* Yeah. I KNOW. High fantasy, with a touch of paranormal (the world used to have chimaera, but they’re gone now), CIRCUS acts, and of course the requisite secrets, dangers, etc. This book sounds SO different and fantastic.

BOUGHT

Book cover for The Six Crowns: Trundle's Quest by Allan Frewin Jones

Trundle’s Quest: The Six Crowns #1 by Allan Jones. (Amazon | Goodreads)

So I first heard about this MG fantasy on the Twitter (HOLLA, Pam!), and realized that it sounds pretty legit. I haven’t read many animal fantasies (apologies, Redwall), but this one has hedgehogs, pirates, danger, and a quest for treasure. Also, a character named Esmerelda, which was my grandfather’s (totally random) nickname for me. Or maybe I was Jasmine and my sister was Esmerelda? Hmmm….Well, either way, it’s a THING. Check out those FLYING PIRATE SHIPS on the cover!!

Book cover for Meant To Be by Lauren Morrill

Mean To Be by Lauren Morrill. (Amazon | Goodreads)

I’ve actually read this already and really, REALLY enjoyed it lots. Plus, I feel like this is a really feel-good-looking cover, with Big Ben and the pretty colors. It’s the perfect vibe for this cute story of London + antagonistic but sweet love story. Good times. I’m rereading this one right now real quick before I post my review.

NETGALLEY

book cover for hysteria by megan miranda

Amazon | Goodreads

Hysteria by Megan Miranda (February 5, 2013 from Bloomsbury). Megan Miranda’s debut, FRACTURED, was good friends. Her second book sounds just as intense: a sixteen-year-old girl can’t remember killing her boyfriend (!!), so she’s sent off to a boarding school to stew/hide/recover her memory, and she gets a STALKER of unknown variety. *chills*

Book cover for The Cadet of Tildor by Alex Lidell

Amazon | Goodreads

The Cadet of Tildor by Alex Lidell (January 10, 2013 from Dial). HOLY BANANAS I am so excited for this book. Debut high fantasy??? BRING IT. I can’t even. Especially since this book is blurbed as Tamora Pierce (OMG) meets George R.R. Martin (OMFG *dies*). Now, I know that those are big shoes to fill, but I’m still looking forward to reading about the political drama of high fantasy with crime families (mob what!), military academy, gladiators, AND MORE. Guys. FANTASY MAFIA. How am I supposed to deal with this?

book cover for poison by bridget zinn

Amazon | Goodreads

Poison by Bridget Zinn (March 12, 2013 from Disney Hyperion).  Friends, this book was written by a young lady who has since passed away (so sad), so unfortunately we won’t be seeing any more from Bridget Zinn. But this YA fantasy about a young potions master who tries to kill the ruler of her country but screws up and goes on the run sounds GREAT.

BOUGHT & BORROWED

BIG THANKS to Tara from Hobbitsies for passing these ARCs along! Mwah!

The Vincent Boys: The Vincent Boys #1 by Abbi Glines. (Amazon | Goodreads)

I picked this one up as a storm purchase (I finished my previous read and had nothing else with me so grabbed this one at Wal-Mart out of necessity). It was ok, even though it had lots going for it: southern contemp YA w/issues etc. But I know lots of people who’ve loved it, so go give it a shot. Review coming soon.

Days of Blood and Starlight: Daughter of Smoke and Bone #2 by Laini Taylor. (Amazon | Goodreads)

DUH. THIS BOOK. I feel like I just want to make some time, no plans, no people bothering me, and just curl up and devour this one. I can’t wait to see where Karou and Akiva’s story goes from here.

Stealing Parker: Catching Jordan #2 by Miranda Kenneally. (Amazon | Goodreads)

I’m liking the fact that this book sounds like it has some ISSUES in it, i.e., knockin’ boots with a teacher/authority figure. That’s s fine line, friends.

Child of the Mountains by Mary Sue Shank. (Amazon | Goodreads)

I kind of have a thing with Appalachian stories, guys. I can’t explain it. I love the mountains and the hardships and the people. BONUS because this one is also historical fiction. Woot!

Fury: Fury #1 by Elizabeth Miles. (Amazon | Goodreads)

I’ve been wanting to read this one for awhile. Because MYTHOLOGY WINS.

Amelia Anne is Dead and Gone by Kat Rosenfield. (Amazon | Goodreads)

Small town drama is right up my alley, and this twisty, dark-sounding book about a murder in a nowhere town sounds kind of mysterious and intense.

Masque of the Red Death: Masque of the Red Death #1 by Bethany Griffin. (Amazon | Goodreads)

A Poe-ish dystopian steampunk book about a girl who lives in a society crippled by a plague and finds solace in an underground club called the DEBAUCHERY CLUB. I’m so glad that other people make these things up, friends, because that sounds fantastic.

SO STOKED! Hope you guys love your hauls this week!

book cover for obsidian mirror by catherine fisher

Amazon | Goodreads

The Obsidian Mirror: Chronoptika #1 by Catherine Fisher (April 23, 2013 from Dial). I’ve read and enjoyed–although not loved–Catherine Fisher’s Incarceron series. But this new one from her, about a time-traveling mirror and a manor house full of secrets and a murder, sounds pretty legit.

book cover for Orleans by Sherri L. Smith

Amazon | Goodreads

Orleans by Sherri L. Smith (March 7, 2013 from Putnam Juvenile). Dystopian that takes place in New Orleans, where there have been tons of hurricanes and disease, and so the whole area is quarantined from the rest of the US. The people left live according to blood type, and the main character has a baby (not hers, but still) to take care of. Sounds REALLY interesting.

book cover for the art of wishing by Lindsay ribar

Amazon | Goodreads

The Art of Wishing by Lindsay Ribar (March 21, 2013 from Dial). Umm, I had no idea until today that Lindsay Ribar is from New Jersey. HOLLA, HOMEGIRL!! Your book sounds super! This debut contemp/light fantasy has been on my radar for a little while, understandably because it is about a girl who comes into possession of a genie’s lamp and winds up falling for said genie, who is on the run from some baddies.

book cover for how to lead a life of crime by Kirsten Miller

Amazon | Goodreads

How to Lead a Life of Crime by Kirsten Miller (February 1, 2013 from Razorbill). Story about a school in NYC that trains teenage criminals to be exceptional criminals. To what end, I have no idea, but STOP IT.

the ruining by Anna Collamore

Amazon | Goodreads

The Ruining by Anna Collamore (February 7, 2013 from Razorbill). This one sounds good and creepy friends. It’s about a young girl who goes to start over as a nanny for a family, and weird things start happening to her. Sounds like a good old psychological thriller. I’m in.

book cover for the sweet revenge of celia door by karen finneyfrock

Amazon | Goodreads

The Sweet Revenge of Celia Door by Karen Finneyfrock (February 21, 2013 from Viking Children’s). Yes, please, to this contemp about a broody, punk chick who starts high school looking to get back at some mean girls, but sees her plans put to the test by the new boy in town. Sounds great, PLUS another 2013 debut!

book cover for paper valentine by brenna yovanoff

Amazon | Goodreads

Paper Valentine by Brenna Yovanoff (January 8, 2013 from Razorbill). I still haven’t read Brenna Yovanoff’s first two books, but this one sounds pretty chilling and dark. There’s ghosts and murders and a trouble-making boy with a soft spot for our main character, it seems. Plus, that cover is PRETTY.

book cover for a tangle of knots by lisa graff

Amazon | Goodreads

A Tangle of Knots by Lisa Graff (February 12, 2013 from Philomel). YAY, magicky middle grade!! The people in this world each have a Talent (honestly, it sounds like the graces in GRACELING, but lighter), and Cady, the main character AND ORPHAN has a Talent for BAKING. I can’t even.

BOUGHT & BORROWED

Amazon | Goodreads

Scarlet: The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer (February 5, 2013 from Feiwel & Friends). Guys, CINDER was one of the best books I’ve read this year. The world is amazing, the characters are top-notch, and the cleverness and creativity is super. To say that I am dying to read SCARLET, book number 2, is an understatement.

Mucho thanks to Tara from Hobbitsies for sharing the goods, and to Jen from Makeshift Bookmark for passing it along!

Amazon | Goodreads

The Lost Prince: The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten #1 by Julie Kagawa. Actually just finished reading this one from NetGalley. Friends, Julie Kagawa is special. Her fairy books aren’t like anyone else’s. I’ve read other fairy books that were good, but hers really are the best. Ethan’s story is really enjoyable and dramatic.

Amazon | Goodreads

The Crimson Crown: Seven Realms #4 by Cinda Williams Chima. AHHH I DIE! I can’t wait to read this book, even if it is the last in the series. Han and Raisa are such great characters with lots of intensity, and I think things are going to get a little bit worse for them in this book before they get better (better obviously being some kind of happily ever after/sexytimes).

SO STOKED! Hope you guys love your hauls this week!
