November Recap
Friends, I love November. Thanksgiving is a big reason, but I also love the penultimate month of the year because we get the first real hints of winter in my neck of the woods. I get to break out my flannel and my fleece and my warm socks and snuggle up with books. Mmmmm…good times. In case you missed some of the good times around these parts this past month, I’ve got you covered!
Another Little Piece of My Heart by Tracey Martin · The Killing Woods by Lucy Christopher · Going Rogue: Also Known As #2 by Robin Benway · Dangerous by Shannon Hale · Plus One by Elizabeth Fama (doesn’t have a cover yet)
The Palace Job by Patrick Weekes · Defy: Defy #1 by Sara B. Larson · A Creature of Moonlight by Rebecca Hahn
BOUGHT
Night of Cake and Puppets: Daughter of Smoke and Bone #2.5 by Laini Taylor · World After: Penryn and the End of Days #2 by Susan Ee · The Burning Sky: Elemental Trilogy #1 by Sherry Thomas
HOW TO LOVE by Katie Cotugno was a beautifully written debut about young motherhood and what happens when your first love is kind of a jerk but also kind of YOUR FIRST AND FOREVER LOVE.
So glad that we got to hang with Willem in JUST ONE YEAR by Gayle Forman, even if I wished for so many more things from the ending.
BROKEN by CJ Lyons is a great story about a girl with a rare heart condition. WITH TWISTY PARTS.
Best ending to a series I’ve read in a long time? CHAMPION by Marie Lu. Not even kidding at all.
I LOVE me a good sequel, friends. Here’s my top ten favorites!
Covers can be a sticky wicket, eh friends? If I had my druthers, I’d give these ten covers a makeover.
My sister isn’t the biggest reader, but I can MAYBE see her reading one of these ten books. Maybe. Someday. Fingers crossed. (Probably not.)
I always have lots to be thankful for, including these ten bookish things.
Debut fantasy? You BET I’m waiting on DEFY by Sara B. Larson!
I’m a decent-sized sucker for Peter Pan retellings and SECOND STAR by Alyssa B. Sheinmel sounds great.
HOLY CRAP ARTHURIAN FUTURE WORLD *DIES*. Ahem. So I guess I’m kind of excited for THE WAKING WORLD by Tom Huddleston.
