Top Ten Books I Wish Were Movies
It’s not often that I wish for the books I read to be movies. I like to just imagine them in my mind and let my imagination go nuts. But sometimes, books are so vibrant and awesome that I want to see them on the big screen so that I can just drown in their awesomeness.
The truth is that I seem to like vampires more when I’m watching them than reading them, but THE HALLOWED ONES was so creepy and different in so many ways. If there was a way to convey the tension Katie and her family are living with being Amish and out of the news loop in a movie, I’d watching it a million times.
These books are just amazing. I have such clear pictures of this world and these character in my mind that I want to see them in real life. And getting to see Kai and WOLF and Thorne in the movie-flesh?! OK, I’ll watch that, I guess.
Talk about a book that is just overflowing with gorgeous imagery and vibrant worlds and amazing characters. This is one of my favorite series, so if there is ever a movie or a TV show or any other kind of media production of this book (or this whole series), I will be first on line to see it.
I’m pretty sure I’m not going to have to wait too terribly long to see this movie because the rights were purchased before the book even came out, but that’s fine with me. It’s like Independence Day. But BETTER.
DUH FAVORITE FANTASY. Getting to see Katsa and Po in action, respecting and loving each other, would be AMAZING. And let’s just be honest: I’d watch any adaptation of any fantasy ever. SO my jam.
This is one of those really great middle grade series that I think would be so great on any screen. Lots of drama, lots of things, a constantly evolving plot, and a vibrant world of fairies, good and bad. I mean….
*Imagines Duval on a movie screen* *Pictures Ismae with her badass crossbow* *Duval* *fans self* This historical fiction-fantasy is just so complex and smart. I’d watch it, no question.
First of all, the illustrations in this legit middle grade alone evoke a seriously great animated film. Add the hilarious and charming Princes and the brave, smart Princesses to the mix and you legit have the makings of an ACE cartoon.
I would just DIE to see a movie of this book. DIE. Puck?! The Connollys?! The horses?! SEAN KENDRICK?!?! Stop it.
Can’t have a list of books that I would LOVE to be movies without a road trip, and this one is my favorite. I would love to see all the amazing places Amy and Roger visit, but mostly I just want to see Roger be all sweet and friendly. SIGH.
Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour is the only book I’ve read from your list :O But I gotta agree, it would be lovely to see that one on the big screen! I bet it’d be one hella epic roadtrip movie! <3 The others books you mentioned are on my TBR list! Glad to see you're very enthusiastic about them! π
Great choices! I’d love to see The Lunar Chronicles and Daughter of Smoke & Bone as movies. I still have most of these on my to-read list.
My Top Ten Tuesday.
I don’t think you’ll have to wait long for 5th Wave. It may be a better movie than a book!
Here’s my two cents about the books that should be made into movies.
Graceling is such a great book! I haven’t read it in a really long time, but I agree with you- it would make an excellent movie.
I haven’t read any others on your list but Cinder & Scarlett are waiting for me on my Kindle! I can’t wait to read them.
My Top Ten Tuesday is here if you would like to check it out http://wp.me/p3DIPM-6K
Oh wow, what a great list! All of them are some of my favourites or on my TBR list. π
I completely agree with you about the whole watching vs. reading about vampires. In fact, I wouldn’t say that I even really “like” vampires, but I have quite enjoyed a few stories with them! I’ll have to check out “The Scorpio Races” now!
BAM. The Lunar Chronicles. Game over!
The 5th Wave would FREAK ME OUT. Yes, let’s see that one!
Of course you would choose The Scorpio Races π I’ve seen it on some other people’s lists and I could actually kind of see it as a TV show!
Graceling, hi! DoSaB – Yes please! And Grave Mercy, OF COURSE.
The Hero’s Guide to Saving Your Kingdom is on my TTT, too. But I didn’t think of it as an animated movie. But holy cow, it would be awesome as an animated movie! Seriously awesome! They would need wonderful voice actors, though. Great idea. π
Haven’t heard of the Hallowed Ones! Going to look it up! And I don’t think I’ve ever been to your site before! It’s so pretty π
My TTT
Graceling’s on my list too! It would be so good as a film, especially the scenery. I haven’t heard of The Hero’s Guide to Saving Your Kingdom, but it sounds interesting. π
I have not read a single one of these, but Graceling is high on my TBR list. From what I’ve heard about it, I definitely think it would be a great movie!
My link is in the CommentLuv thing, so I’ll refrain from posting it here! π
Daughter of Smoke and Bone would make a visually gorgeous movie.
AND YES YES YES TO GRACELING. That would be so awesome. There needs to be more epic fantasy movies.
The 5th Wave would be so good as a movie! And Cinder and Scarlet…would love to see those too. Great list!
I included The Lunar Chronicles on my list, too! They both seem like they’d make such great movies. Action, romance, adventure… elements of the perfect movie!
