In Which We Celebrate the 200th Birthday of Pride and Prejudice, Belatedly
I know, friends. Th 200th birthday of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE was technically yesterday. I’m a little behind. But who said that we can’t celebrate this wonderful book EVERY day?! Not me. I always enjoy checking out different editions of books. I love to see the covers and the different designs. I especially love the way each different cover sends out different vibes. And because I was going for different, I shied away from using covers that have some kind of painting of a young, 19th century woman or women on the cover. We’ve all seen those, right friends? Check out these BEAUTIES instead! You can click the covers for links to Amazon or Barnes and Noble if you’re struck with the desire to flash these pretties on your own shelves!

Look at all of those beautiful, interesting covers! I think my favorite is the HarperTeen edition with the black background the flowers. Yum.
And the graphic novel??? Oh my.
I like the Harper Teen edition, too! My favorites are probably the red drop cap and the blue Barnes & Noble edition. But they’re all so gorgeous!
I love that you picked out some of the most beautiful covers for P&P. My favorite is.. well, I’m torn between the Penguin Drop Cap edition, the Barnes & Noble leatherbound and the Splinter edition. Too pretty!
I LOVE that Drop Cap! Alexa. I just got my copy of it in the mail–it’s BEAUTIFUL. They’re issuing different classics for each letter (by author last name), and each cover is a different color. I NEED THEM.
That Splinter edition, too, though. I love watercolors, and that’s a particularly lovely one, no?
I love that you did this, Amy! I haven’t actually seen quite a few of these…my peacocks seem to be a common theme, no?
I’m SO pumped about the graphic novel edition, my library system has it and I’ll be checking it out soon. I think my favorite of these is actually the B&N leatherbound edition. Something about the simplicity and the color just grabs me. I do love the Splinter covers as well though.
YAY! Thanks Heidi! I thought that same thing about peacocks! They’re all over the place with this book! Maybe something to do with the pride action? Isn’t that a characteristic associated with peacocks? Like arrogant people? I don’t know what I’m saying, but yes! I noticed it too.
I love that B&N edition! I love that shade of blue and the script on the cover. So pretty!!
I could honestly own every cover of this book and be the happiest woman alive!
Yayyy! Love all the covers you found, Amy! So many beautiful ones to choose from 🙂 And of course I loved seeing which ones I had and which ones I still need to buy!
