Ahh, fall. This might be my favorite season, friends. I love the changing leaves, the crispy air, Thanksgiving. In addition to all that, there’s always books. I look forward to books every season, but these are the books I’m most looking forward to reading this fall. WOOT!

Book cover for The Crimson Crown by Cinda Williams Chima

The Crimson Crown (Seven Realms #3) by Cinda Williams Chima (October 23, 2012)

Oh yes, friends. I have just this past year FINALLY caught up on Cinda Williams Chima’s Seven Realms series. And THANK THE GODS I did, because it’s pretty legit. THE CRIMSON CROWN is the last book in the series about magician Han Alister and queen Raisa and the war in their world between magicians and the clans, with political shenanigans besides. I can’t wait to see how things end!

Through To You by Emily Hainsworth

Through To You by Emily Hainsworth (October 2, 2012)

WHOA, this book sounds awesome. It’s kind of science-fiction/paranormal sounding. A story about a young guy whose girlfriend dies and he somehow finds access to an alternate reality where his girlfriend is alive. This book sounds mind-bendingly awesome.

Book cover for The Lost Prince by Julie Kagawa

The Lost Prince (The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten #1) by Julie Kagawa (October 23, 2012)

OBVS I would be excited about a new series set in the same world as the Iron Fey series, one of my favorite fairy series EVER. This series is about Meghan’s little brother, Ethan, who is not so little anymore. I die.

Book cover for Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor

Days of Blood and Starlight (Daughter of Smoke and Bone #2) by Laini Taylor (November 6, 2012)

DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE was one of my favorite books of last year. I adored the story of Karou and Akiva, and the world of fallen angels and chimera, and Laini Taylor’s writing. I’m dying to read more about the war and the romance and drama and whatever else Laini decides to tell me.

Book cover for Venom by Fiona Paul

Venom (Secrets of the Eternal Rose #1) by Fiona Paul (October 30, 2012)

So, a book that takes place in Renaissance Venice that’s got secret societies, forbidden romance, death, murder, LOTS of good drama. I love historical fiction, and anything set in Renaissance anywhere gets an A+ for the possibilities for CRAY drama.

Book cover for Valkyrie Rising by Ingrid Paulson

Valkyrie Rising by Ingrid Paulson (October 9, 2012)

HOLY CRAP SCANDANAVIA. This book is about a girl visiting her grandmother in Norway whose brother disappears, all while she’s basically hearing things, telling her that she is ancient warrior (I’m assuming, a Valkyrie). Sounds EPIC. I’m in big time.

Book cover for Jepp, Who Defied the Stars by Katherine Marsh

Jepp, Who Defied the Stars by Katherine Marsh (October 2, 2012)

There are some great historical fictions coming out this fall, friends, and JEPP sounds like one of them. It’s about a young dwarf in historical Europe who is kidnapped and taken across Europe, and must keep himself and his friend safe. Guys, I’m telling you right now: This book sounds FANTASTIC.

Book cover for Dark Lord: The Early Years by Jamie Thomson

Dark Lord: The Early Years by Jamie Thomson (October 2, 2012)ย

Haha, this sounds like a hilarious MG, friends, about a young, evil lord who finds himself transported to the planet Earth, and must learn to make his way as an ordinary boy. I can tell that this one is going to be a laugh a minute. Well, my fingers are crossed anyway.

Book cover for Meant To Be by Lauren Morrill

Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill (November 13, 2012)

Little bit of cheating going on here because I’ve read this already. But I’ll read it again when it comes out because it was as good and enjoyable a contemporary as I’ve read this year. Just plain good stuff. Also, LONDON. One of my favorite places ever.

Book cover for Lovely, Dark and Deep by Amy McNamara

Lovely, Dark and Deep by Amy McNamara (November 13, 2012)

A contemporary about a young girl who is trying to recover emotionally from the car accident that killer her boyfriend but left her alive. She basically cuts herself off from the world and moves into her dad’s cabin in the woods. Of course, there’s a guy there and, well, we can all make a guess what happens. But that doesn’t mean this book–a debut–doesn’t sound thoughtful and bittersweet and wonderful.
