Top Ten Books on My Spring TBR
These Top Ten Tuesday’s are always some of my favorites, friends. Looking forward to new books is one of the very best things about blogging because it means I get to become endlessly excited about all of the excellent reads coming my way! There are almost literally A TON of great books coming out this spring. I could’ve made this list twice as long, so I’m pretty proud that I was able to restrain myself! There are so many great books on my spring TBR, but these are the ten I’m most DYING to read!
The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton (March 25 | Candlewick)
I’m going to be starting this one shortly, friends. I wish I could describe it to you with some–any–kind of real sense of what it’s actually about. But it kind of defies description. I can tell you that it’s about a girl who is born with wings. I KNOW.
Dreams of Gods and Monsters: Daughter of Smoke and Bone #3 by Laini Taylor (April 8 | Little, Brown & Co.)
OMG DUH. I’ve been dying to read this book since I started the series in 2012, and that’s no lie. I was always looking to read more books about these characters and these worlds. I am not ready for this to be the last one. No I am not.
The Nethergrim: The Nethergrim Trilogy #1 by Matthew Jobin (April 8 | Philomel)
Well, doesn’t this cover look positively MONSTROUS!! It has TEETH on it! Also, the whole “evil waking while magic sleeps” thing sounds so very ominous. It’s a middle grade fantasy that has my name written all over it.
The Museum of Intangible Things by Wendy Wunder (April 10 | Razorbill)
When I read Wendy Wunder’s first book, THE PROBABILITY OF MIRACLES, I became an instant fan. I feel like she’s going to do this story of friendship and change great justice.
House of Ivy & Sorrow by Natalie Whipple (April 15 | Harper Teen)
STAAAHP! Witches and curses and magic houses and AHHHHH!! There’s not one thing about this book that doesn’t sound completely awesome to me.
Deep Blue: Waterfire Saga #1 by Jennifer Donnelly (May 6 | Disney Hyperion)
Ok, so I don’t always have great luck with mermaids. Couldn’t tell you why, because I think they’re incredible fantasy creatures. But Jennifer Donnelly is an excellent storyteller, and I love that this one involves a prophecy with mermaid heroines! Bring it. Sounds like a ton of fun.
A Creature of Moonlight by Rebecca Hahn (May 6 | HMH Books for Young Readers)
This book–about a young girl who is half dragon, half human–sounds a little like SERAPHINA, but that’s a good thing because that book was awesome. Also, DRAGONS. ALSO, it was blurbed by Kristin Cashore. That’s a triple threat, right there.
Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson (May 6 | Simon & Schuster)
I know I’ve mentioned before that Morgan Matson is one of my go-to, must-read, forever favorite authors. I CANNOT WAIT for this book. She has such a great knack for making emotional impact.
The Wizard’s Promise: The Hannah Duology by Cassandra Rose Clarke (May 6 | Strange Chemistry)
I can’t get over this cover. It’s GORGEOUS. Plus, it’s got what sounds like a pretty amazing magical world. And a boy who sounds very intriguing indeed. LOVE those.
Ruin & Rising: The Grisha Trilogy #3 by Leigh Bardugo (June 17 | Henry Holt & Co.)
OBVIOUSLY. Give me more Sturmhond and Mal and the Darkling. And, of course, Alina. I’m both nervous and excited about how this series is going to wind down!
Your title graphics are so pretty!! Since You’ve Been Gone made my list as well. I haven’t heard much about Deep Blue, but that’s one gorgeous cover.
I read this whole list, then opened Goodreads in another tab and went back up to the top to start again and add while I went. 😉 So many of these sound amazing and I hadn’t heard of them yet!
I am also totally excited for the Dreams of Gods & Monsters book, but am now so excited for Nevergrim and Creature of Moonlight and House of Ivy & Sorrow and… AAAH!
House of Ivy and Sorrow is looking good! I’ve been waiting for this for some time, but I’m not sure when I’m going to pick it up…
Basically every book here was on my TBR aside from A Creature of Moonlight and that has now been rectified.
I also can’t get over that cover for House of Ivy and Sorrow. It’s GORGEOUS. 2014 is seriously going to be a year filled with cover porn
The Museum of Intangible Things made my list this week, too. I’m seeing Since You’ve Been Gone around quite a bit today. I need to go check that one out.
My TTT.
The Wizard’s Promise does have a great cover!
WHOO HOOO someone else who had Deep Blue, I was feeling all alone and you have it too and yayyyyy!
Also, omg omg omg omg I want to read the new Wendy Wunder too.
House Of Ivy and Sorrow looks totally awesome.
Basically I am so excited for reading all the books this spring. ALL THE BOOKS.
To say I love your list would be an understatment. There are a couple I haven’t heard of that I need to check out but we have several in common.
I think you have some cover-love going on because those are some gorgeous covers! Can’t wait for Ruin & Rising.
Seriously, all these book covers are gorgeous!!! And I pretty much have to drop everything and read the final book in Laini Taylor’s series when it comes out too.
The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender is so beautiful – I hope you end up enjoying it! I am also super stoked to Dreams of Gods & Monsters and Ruin and Rising. Though it will be sad to see these two trilogies come to an end. And whoa Seraphina sound-alike? I definitely need to look into that one!
Great picks! I am looking forward to starting a few of the series you mentioned, especially the Grisha and Daughter of Smoke & Bone series. I hope you find the time to get to them all 🙂 My TTT.
Dreams of Gods and Monsters… Can’t wait to read that one ♥
The Museum of Intangible Things and The House of Ivy and Sorrow and both such good books. How did I not know about A Creature of Moonlight? It sounds amazing! These covers are so beautiful.
Amazing list. I want to read everyone that you mentioned!
