Top Ten Series Enders
Friends, while I was compiling my list for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday, I realized something: I haven’t finished many series. Granted, this is largely because some of my favorites are still in progress and aren’t even finished yet (HELLO, A Song of Ice and Fire). Because of this, I decided to shout out some of my most anticipated series enders because hey, my list, my rules, right? But never fear: I’ve got a solid list of my favorite series enders (and, you know, one final book that left a sour taste in my mouth).
Friends, this is literally the only series-ending book I could think of that I didn’t like. For real. I can still get ranty about REQUIEM to this day, and I read it months ago. Such a shame that this one was disappointing. The series started SO STRONG!
This series is one of my very favorite fantasies. There’s so much to love about it. I know that some people were all “meh, Bitterblue” but I wasn’t one of them. I was actually REALLY into it. I was more than pleased with the way this series closed. Also, you know, GIDDON. Loved him.
Umm, BEST SERIES ENDER OF ALL TIME EVER TIMES INFINITY. Honestly. “Always.” I mean.
So, um, I read this book in college (OMG such a cliche I feel like) and loved it. And then I kind of also skimmed the appendices and, umm, got a little choked up when I read the timeline that told of Legolas and Gimli leaving Middle Earth and passing into the West. Like, they should’ve hated each other, guys! Elves and dwarves! HOBBITS! Hobbits are like my spirit animal, except a mostly human spirit animal.
I held off reading this series for a long time because the steampunk aspect made me feel kind of meh, like it usually does. But I’ve heard great things about the audiobooks for so long that I decided to give the a shot. SO WORTH IT. This is such a great series, and it ends quite awesomely.
One day soon I will gather my thoughts enough to review the last two books in this series because HECTOR HOLY BALLS OMG. The way Elisa’s journey ends in THE BITTER KINGDOM was so excellent.
I have never read a pair of books like EON/EONA. Never. Asian-based fantays? Spirit dragons?! Honestly. This book–and its predecessor–blew me away.
Another two-book series that I thought ended perfectly. Adam and Mia’s story is super emotional, and the ending gives me warm fuzzies. Big fan.
So this is on here because I own it, it’s on my shelf, it’s staring at me, and I can’t wait to read it. Also, SOMETHING IS BURNING on the cover.
This book doesn’t have a cover yet, so I made one. Because this is one of my favorite series right now. I am just about DYING to know how this series will end up and what’s in store for Annith.
Oh, my darling friends. I am both incredibly stoked and very worried about June and Day. Because I just love them so. I’m going to miss them.
O.M.G. I’m dying for this book. DYING. I almost can’t handle the anticipation. This series is gorgeous, the characters are gorgeous, the world is gorgeous. I am basically in love with the feelings and the creativity and the lushness. I would like this now, please.
I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one disappointed by Requiem, it was just all round meh!
The Crimson Crown is, without a doubt, the best series ender EVER. I loved the Seven Realms series, and the last book is the icing on the cake. SO incredible – can’t wait to see what you think of it!

Yes, HP7 is the best series finale of ALL TIME! Always – hehe. Actually, I’ve been thinking I need a HP tank top. One that’s a little dressier, so that I could wear it to work under a sweater. But I want one that’s really subtle in terms of it’s Harry Potter-ness. I’ve seen a few on Etsy. Anyway, I got distracted 🙂
I haven’t read any of the other books on your list. I really need to start the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series, though. It’s on my list. Oh, and definitely the Girl of Fire and Ice. So many books, so little time, though 🙁
The Crimson Crown was AMAZING! A prefect end to the series =D
Requiem makes me sad that I started that series. That book isn’t even finished. It just cut off, like somebody ripped the last pages out. So not cool. The premise of the series was fantastic. The execution was horrible. BOO Requiem! (Wow, I apparently have strong feelings too.) What I CAN say is that I loved the audiobook narrator. So, there’s that.
I really love Requiem, but I know many people have mixed feelings about it, especially depending on who they ship. 🙂
I completely agree with Deathly Hallows, and I can’t wait for Champion and Dreams of Gods and Monsters.
The Bitter Kingdom was an awesome series ender. And I’m very worried about Champion, it better end happy, but how can it?? And I completely agree with you Requiem, I could rant quite awhile about that book. I still consider it one of my favorite series, but just because of the first two books.
